Innovations CfP_Focus Area 1: Innovative vaccine platforms that can transform outbreak response

CEPI’s Innovations to Prepare for Future Epidemics and Pandemics Call for Proposals aims to support CEPI’s mission by advancing a broad range of vaccine innovations for pathogens with epidemic or pandemic potential, including novel pathogens capable of infecting and causing disease in humans (i.e., Disease X). It will support vaccine research, development and manufacturing innovations for CEPI’s priority pathogens and contribute towards the 100 Days Mission, thereby helping the world prepare for known and future epidemic and pandemic threats.

To apply to the Call, you will need to be set up as a Portal User. This will give you the option to apply for Calls, follow the status of your proposal, and check in on project data if receiving funding from CEPI.

To be set up as a Portal User please click on the ‘Register Now‘ button on the page and complete the registration form.

The registration form will allow you to contact the team to discuss your product, technology or innovation and confirm your proposed project is aligned with the current needs and priorities of one or more Focus Areas. CEPI requests that you attach the following information to your registration request to perform an initial assessment of suitability for the scope of the CfP prior to submission of a full proposal:

• A pitch deck of your proposed product, technology or innovation including any data.
• A list of personnel and organizations working on the project.
• A list of keywords related to your project.

This Call is open until 14th December 2026, and a proposal may be submitted at any time until this date. Submitted proposals will be reviewed as follows:

• Exploratory Awards:
  • Monthly rolling
  • Review period starting on the second Monday of every month from 8 Jan 2024 – 14 Dec 2026
• Platform Development
  • Quarterly rolling
  • Review period starting on the second Monday of every third month from 8 Jan 2024 – 14 Dec 2026

Once CEPI has granted you access to submit a full application, you will receive a confirmation email from CEPI, with guidance on how to use the new CEPI Portal and how to submit your application. A separate auto-generated email will be sent with a link for you to log on and create a password.
